Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, C. P. R. Hackenberger et al. review chemical functionalization strategies and intracellular applications of nanobodies. How can they be used to visualize and manipulate intracellular targets? Minireviews by F. Glorius et al. and D. Rauh et al. deal with catalyst efficiency in C–H activation and kinase-targeted therapies in lung cancer. In a Highlight, M. M. Unterlass discusses the hydrothermal generation of crystalline organic materials. In her Guest Editorial, G. Chambaud encourages readers to drive chemistry and Europe.

In the Communications section, P. J. Pérez et al. describe the synthesis of 1-boryl-2,3-disubstituted cyclopropanes (see picture). A. E. Herr et al. succeeded in the rapid capture and release of nucleic acids through a reversible photoreaction in a hydrogel. B. Yang et al. designed metal-free polymer carbon dots, a new class of room-temperature phosphorescent materials.
