This issue features the Nobel Lectures of the latest Chemistry Laureates: Richard Henderson writes on the path from electron crystallography to single-particle cryo electron microscopy (CryoEM), Joachim Frank describes the single-particle reconstruction of biological molecules, and Jacques Dubochet summarizes the development of electron cryo-microscopy.

In the Communications section, K. P. Loh et al. describe the intrinsic catalytic activities of zigzag edges in graphene-oxide-catalyzed direct CH-CH-type cross-couplings (see picture). R. Banerjee et al. report superprotonic conductivity in flexible porous covalent organic framework membranes. D. Enders et al. succeeded in the asymmetric synthesis of spirocyclic β-lactams through copper-catalyzed Kinugasa/Michael domino reactions.
