Dr. Elisabeth Kapatsina will be Executive Director of the German Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry (DBG) effective October 1, 2018. She succeeds Dr. Susanne Kühner.

Elisabeth Kapatsina studied chemistry at the University of Mainz, Germany, and received her Ph.D. from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, for work on liquid crystals under the supervision of Sabine Laschat. After a postdoctoral stay at the University of Basel, Switzerland, she started working for the GDCh office, Frankfurt, Germany, in 2010. She was Head of the Education Department.
