Angewandte Chemie 19/2021: Life as We Know It

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, M. Bonn et al. review probing the mineral–water interface with nonlinear optical spectroscopy and T. J. Marks et al. summarize research on alternative oxidants for the catalytic oxidative coupling of methane. The Minireviews deal with boron in prebiological evolution (A. Franco, J. A. L. da Silva) and electrochemical and photoelectrochemical water oxidation for hydrogen peroxide production (K. Sayama et al.).

In the original research section, J. L. Atwood et al. describe the self-assembly of a semiconductive and photoactive heterobimetallic metal–organic capsule (see picture). B. S. J. Blagg et al. report selective inhibition of the Hsp90α isoform. P. Huang et al. created a biomimetic nanoemulsion for synergistic photodynamic immunotherapy against hypoxic breast tumors. A. P. H. J. Schenning et al. present a wavelength-selective photopolymerization of hybrid acrylate-oxetane liquid crystals.
