Angewandte Chemie 36/2021: Refining Chemistry

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, J. Shi et al. review electrocatalytic hydrogen production and S.-Z. Qiao et al. discuss electrocatalytic refinery for sustainable production of fuels and chemicals. The Minireview deals with acridinium salts and cyanoarenes as photocatalysts in organic synthesis (A. Tlili, S. Lakhdar). S. Bräse et al. highlight nitrogen deletion of secondary amines by anomeric amide reagents.

In the original research section, Y. Li et al. present programmable RNA N1-methyladenosine demethylation by Cas13d-directed demethylase. A. Thomas et al. prepared protonated imine-linked covalent organic frameworks for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. Z. Liu et al. used a cationic micelle as an in vivo catalyst for tumor-localized cleavage (see picture), and C. P. Sindlinger et al. synthesized a boratafulvene.
