Mirror-image molecules are seldom found in Nature. R. M. Williams et al. explore the puzzles and stereochemical anomalies regarding the biogenesis of these unique enantiomeric natural products in a Review. D. Gatteschi et al. explore the no-man's land between molecular nanomagnets and magnetic nanoparticles in a Minireview. The Highlights guide their readers to atom tunneling in organic transformations (F. W. Patureau), azobenzene switching in vivo (H. A. Wegner), and in situ XPS studies of ionic liquid reactions (P. Licence).

In the Communications section, T. Vogt et al. report on high-pressure ion exchange of small-pore zeolite K-natrolite and the immobilization of nominally non-exchangeable aliovalent cations such as trivalent europium. X. Bao et al. visualize chemical reactions confined under graphene (see picture). B. M. Trost et al. succeeded in the palladium-catalyzed alkylation of 1,4-dienes by C–H activation.
