The Angewandte Author Profiles celebrate an author’s 10th, 25th, 50th, or 100th article in the journal since 2000. This month, the following authors have had their 10th paper published:

Albert Schenning, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands:
The part of my job that I enjoy the most is to motivate, support, and educate young people.

Carsten Schmuck, University of Duisburg–Essen, Germany:
The three qualities that make a good scientist are curiosity, enthusiasm, and persistence.

Ramón Martínez-Máñez, University of Valencia, Spain:
The biggest problem that scientists face is financial support (and the time invested in getting it).

José Barluenga is also featured with an author profile to mark his 35th paper since 2000 and in a longer interview he discusses the difficulties of establishing a research career in Spain in the 1970ies.
