Angewandte Chemie 17/2016: Design and Synthesis

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, K. Itami et al. review the design and synthesis of carbon nanotube segments. How can nanotubes be synthesized in a controlled way, with single chirality, and through organic template-assisted growth? In a Minireview, J. Wan and P. F. Alewood discuss peptide-decorated dendrimers and their bioapplications.

In the Communications section, J. Zhang et al. describe how labile surface sites can be used for ligand substitution and metal incorporation in bandgap engineering of titanium–oxo clusters (see picture). K. Reuter et al. analyze the case for bifunctional catalysis and X. Zhang et al. succeeded in the direct asymmetric reductive amination for the synthesis of chiral β-arylamines.
