Angewandte Chemie 34/2016: New Tricks

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, D. J. Procter et al. review C–H coupling reactions directed by sulfoxides. How can an old functional group be taught new tricks? In a Minireview, M. J. Cryle et al. discuss the motion of carrier proteins in nonribosomal peptide synthesis. The Highlight deals with a stable π-conjugated singlet biradical (U. Bunz et al.).

In the Communications section, M. Greenblatt et al. reveal a low-temperature cationic rearrangement in a bulk metal oxide (see picture). J. M. Ready et al. succeeded in the zirconocene-mediated carbonylative coupling of Grignard reagents. Y. Yamauchi et al. report polymeric micelles and their assembly for the preparation of large mesoporous platinum nanoparticles.
