The scientist we are looking for this time was actually an engineer, but was involved in the development of a very important industrial chemical process for fertilizer production in the early 20th century. He or she invented the technology together with a physicist.
He or she founded a company which exploited this process successfully until it was replaced by a more energy-efficient method of fertilizer production. This Scandinavian company still exists to this day, but has since changed its focus to light metal and energy production.
