ChemRxiv™ Enhances User Experience

Author: ChemistryViews

ChemRxiv, the leading preprint server for the chemical sciences operated by the American Chemical Society (ACS), Chinese Chemical Society, Chemical Society of Japan, German Chemical Society (GDCh), and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), has stated that the server will be hosted on the Cambridge Open Engage platform beginning in the second quarter of 2021.

This will also improve the user experience for authors. As before, authors will be able to submit their preprints directly from ChemRxiv to all Chemical Society partner journals. Under the new host, they will also have an author dashboard where they can view the status of their uploads, easily upload new versions of their preprints, and respond to user comments. Cambridge Open Engage is working with an online panel of more than 200 volunteer scientists to validate new features, prioritize its roadmap, and generate ideas to continually align the system with user needs.

ChemRxiv launched in 2017 intending to become the leading preprint server for all chemical sciences. Since then, ChemRxiv has received over 6,300 preprints that have been viewed and downloaded more than 16 million times.
