Finland/China Sign 1.5 Billion Euros Cleantech Deals

Companies from China and Finland signed twelve deals on clean technology with a total contract value of approximately 1.5 billion euros. Out of these the share of immediate contracts was about 170 million euros and letters of intent about 1.3 billion euros. The agreements were signed at the Cleantech Finland China seminar held in Beijing on May 26th.

Chinese companies are particularly interested in Finnish energy efficiency, bioenergy, wind power, and water and waste management solutions. The immediate contracts are connected for instance to emissions quota contracts, straw pulp technology, ecological cities, and solutions for waste recycling.

Chempolis and Tianjin Jiuqian paper Co Ltd. agreed on the delivery of three biorefineries; GreenStream signed emissions trading contracts; Eero Paloheimo Ecocity signed a significant consultancy agreement and Cargotec agreed on delivering waste retrieval solutions.

Letters of intent were signed for instance by Preseco, Gaia Networks, Eero Paloheimo Ecocity, Reoonen Construction and Oilon.
The agreement between Preseco and Gaia deals with the production of biocarbon using organic waste; Reponen signed a letter of intent for low energy housing solutions, and Oilon will begin to develop small boilers suited for Chinese conditions and domestic use.
