The European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) and Together for Sustainability AISBL (TfS) are officially partnering to support the improvement of sustainability within the entire supply chain of chemical companies. They will look at each stage of the supply chain, from sourcing until delivery of products, including transport safety and waste disposal.

TfS is a joint initiative of chemical companies for sustainable supply chains. Currently it has 13 member companies worldwide.

Rüdiger Eberhard, President of TfS and Chief Procurement Officer, Evonik Industries AG, said that another aim is to "implement the Responsible Care programme in the global chemical industry”. Responsible Care is a broader voluntary initiative of the International Council of Chemicals Association (ICCA),  of which Cefic is a member, to reduce the environmental, health and safety risks associated with chemicals throughout their lifecycles.
