Advanced Science Young Researcher Award

Supported by Wiley

The award recognizes outstanding, interdisciplinary scientific work by three young researchers or engineers in the fundamental understanding and applied development of materials science, physics, chemistry, medical and life sciences, and engineering. The recipients must also demonstrate exceptional promise as emerging research leaders. The prize includes $1,000 and a certificate. The award will be presented on July 13, 2024, during the Advanced Science/VIEW Symposium 2024 and the 2nd International Symposium on Materiobiology in Shanghai, China.

Bioinformatics Dissertation Prize (FaBI Dissertations Prize)

The Bioinformatics Research Group (FaBI) honors outstanding dissertations in the field of bioinformatics. FaBI is a joint specialist group of the six scientific societies DECHEMA, GBM, GDCh, GI, GMDS, and VAAM. It represents more than 1400 bioinformaticians in Germany.

The prize includes €1000, free attendance of the German Conference on Bioinformatics 2024 (GCB 2024) in Bielefeld, Germany, including the conference dinner and the opportunity to present the research in a lecture.

Mario Markus Prize for Ludic Science

The GDCh award honores outstanding scientific work in the field of natural science that is “playful”; . The term “playful” is used here to designate discoveries that arose from research that was undertaken not with any specific application in mind but simply out of curiosity about the natural world. The prize, which has a value of € 10 000 plus travel expenses, will be awarded at a scientific conference.

Sony Women in Technology Award with Nature

The award honores three outstanding early to mid-career women researchers in technology (including science, engineering, and mathematics) whose work is driving a positive impact on society and the planet. All three winners will each receive a prize of $250,000 U.S. Dollars to support and accelerate work related to their research, and a chance to showcase their research work and achievements on nature.com.

Martha Schwarzkopf Award for Women in Science

The award honors outstanding researchers from all over the world in the natural sciences, medicine, or computer science in the field of hair research or a related field. The main prize (Ph.D. and many years of experience) is endowed with 10,000 euros for the first place and 5,000 euros for the second place; the “Emerging Talent” award (completed master’s degree) is endowed with 5,000 euros.
