Author: Vera Koester, Jasmin Herr, Johanna Rath

Professor Markus Antonietti, Max-Planck-Institut für Kolloid- und Grenzflächenforschung, Potsdam, Germany, has received the Hermann Staudinger Prize from the GDCh for his research at the interfaces between polymer synthesis, materials research, and interdisciplinary applications of functional materials.

We talked about his research, Staudinger, Faust, the Kitchen Lab of the Max Planck Institute, and his faszination for the Noodle catalyst*.
