Superconductor Simulation for Research and Teaching

This online seminar delves into the fascinating world of superconductors and explores the broadening possibilities offered by numerical simulation. It is aimed at academics and industry professionals who are interested in staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in this dynamic field.

The event will discuss how multiphysics modelling can be used to simulate the macroscopic behavior of superconductors, taking into account the critical temperature, critical current density, allowing to analyze superconductor-normal transition. It will also showcase some real-world examples and provide insights into the model creation process.

In the second part of the event, it will feature a presentation by Professor Francesco Grilli, who leads a group at KIT that focuses on the numerical modelling of superconductors, from materials to large-scale applications. Professor Grilli will share his pioneering work on using apps for the simulation of superconductors. He will demonstrate how apps can be used to solve challenging teaching problems and discuss their potential applications in industry.

By attending this event, participants will gain insights into the latest trends and advancements in superconductor modelling, hear from leading experts in the field, and have the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals.
