Chemistry Europe Fellows Program

ChemPubSoc Europe Fellows

The Chemistry Europe Fellows Program was created by the Chemistry Europe Presidents and Representatives to recognize members of the Chemistry Europe societies for their outstanding achievements in and contributions to Chemistry Europe's publishing program and their services to at least one member society. The Chemistry Europe Fellows Program is established to foster the identity of Chemistry Europe within continental Europe but is not limited to this continent.


Fellows receive a certificate and retain the designation as Chemistry Europe Fellow for life.

 

 

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Nominees

  • Nominees must be current members in good standing of one of Chemistry Europe's member societies.
  • Former members or deceased members will not be considered.
  • Current Wiley-VCH staff and Chemistry Europe title's senior editorial staff are not eligible to be nominees.
  • Nomination for other awards—including national or regional Chemistry Europe member society awards—does not disqualify a member from being nominated.

 

Nominators

  • Nominators must be current members in good standing of the Chemistry Europe member societies.
  • Current members of the Wiley-VCH staff and Chemistry Europe title's senior editorial staff are eligible to be nominators. 
  • Self-nominations are not accepted.

 

 

Selection Information

  • Chemistry Europe Fellows are selected by the Chemistry Europe Presidents based on proposals by the board of national societies.
  • The selection is based on documented excellence and leadership that has an impact on Chemistry Europe's publishing program and for at least one member society.
  • Appropriate activities might include, but are not limited, to the following:

- Outstanding authorship;
- Outstanding referee activity;
- Superior achievements in starting and promoting the Chemistry Europe program;
- Superior services to a Chemistry Europe journal, e.g., as a Board Member.

  • A nominee who is not selected may be re-nominated in subsequent years. However, nominations will not be carried over from year to year.

 

 

Nomination Process

  • The Chemistry Europe Fellows will be announced and honored at the biannual EuChemS conference or during appropriate national meetings in the years in-between.
  • Nominations should include the name, educational background, professional history (no more than 200 words), as well as contributions to Chemistry Europe (no more than 300 words). The submission must document that the nominee's accomplishments, excellence, and leadership are having a lasting impact on Chemistry Europe and its member societies.
