Angewandte Chemie 11/2023: Purification and Precision

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Bin Liu et al. review long-term stability in acidic oxygen evolution electrocatalysis, and Shengqian Ma et al. discuss porous materials for water purification. The Minireviews deal with metalloallostery and transition metal signaling by bioinorganic copper chemistry (Vanha N. Pham, Christopher J. Chang) as well as precision assembly of polyoxometalates at single-cluster levels (Qingda Liu, Xun Wang). Highlights describe bacterial infections by means of virus-inspired capsids (Maartje M. C. Bastings) and stereochemical editing (Guangying Tan, Frank Glorius).

In the original research section, Xiao Feng et al. present a 2D covalent organic framework for water harvesting with fast kinetics and low regeneration temperature (see picture). Ben List et al. predict highly enantioselective catalysts using tunable fragment descriptors via machine learning. Stainless-steel-like passivation inspired Adam Heller et al. to create persistent silicon anodes for lithium-ion batteries. Yiyong Mai et al. describe metal–organic framework cubosomes.
