Angewandte Chemie 20/2023: Mechanisms of Selectivity

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Stefan Matile et al. review fluorescent flippers: small-molecule probes to image membrane tension in living systems, and Manuel Orlandi et al. summarize research on catalytic asymmetric conjugate reductions. The Minireviews deal with molecular mechanisms of acetylene adsorption and selectivity in functional porous materials (Xue Han, Sihai Yang) as well as metal–organic frameworks for C6 alkane separation (Jing Li et al.). Brett P. Fors et al. highlight the safety improvements of polyurethane foams with cyclic carbonates.

In the original research section, Haralampos N. Miras et al. describe pore softening and breathability effects of new Keplerate nano-containers (see picture). Liuqing Wen et al. present a systematic enzymatic synthesis of dTDP-activated sugar nucleotides. Martina H. Stenzel et al. mechanically activated solid-state radical polymerization and cross-linking via piezocatalysis. Didier Bourissou et al. synthesized square-planar anionic Pt0 complexes.
