Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, John H. Viles reviews the imaging of amyloid-β membrane interactions, and Nobuhiro Yanai et al. summarize progress in materials for and applications of visible-to-UV photon upconversion. The Minireviews deal with NIR-circularly polarized luminescence from chiral complexes of lanthanides and d-metals (Lorenzo Di Bari et al.) as well as covalent organic frameworks for the extraction of water from air (Xiao Feng et al.). In a Viewpoint Article, Fernando Gomollón-Bel and Javier García-Martínez discuss chemical solutions to the current polycrisis.

In the original research section, Xinwen Guo et al. present a self-grown TiO2/Ti-MOF heterojunction with selectively anchored high-density Pt single-atomic cocatalysts for visible-light-driven hydrogen evolution (see picture). Zhichang Liu et al. succeeded in the cascade synthesis of benzotriazulene with three embedded azulene units and large Stokes shifts. Matthew N. Hopkinson et al. achieved the formal insertion of alkenes into C(sp3)–F bonds through mediation by fluorine hydrogen bonding. Koichi Fukase et al. describe practical antibody recruiting by metabolic labeling with caged glycans.
