Angewandte Chemie 27/2022: Minimize to Maximize

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Z. J. Xu et al. review electrochemistry in magnetic fields. What are the mechanisms behind the observed changes in different applications? The Minireviews deal with chirality of perylene diimides (M. Yin et al.) and layered organic metal chalcogenides (G. Xu et al.).

In the original research section, X. Yuan and Y. Wang present a selenide catalyst for the activation of alkenes through Se⋅⋅⋅π bonding (see picture). D. W. Szczepanik discusses bonding in a crystalline tri-thorium cluster. J. Liu et al. decorated bacteria with triple immune nanoactivators and generated tumor-resident living immunotherapeutics. J. E. Macdonald et al. found that minimizing the reorganization energy of cobalt redox mediators maximizes charge transfer rates from quantum dots.
