Angewandte Chemie 44/2022: A Need for Chemists

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, H. Parastar and R. Tauler review big (bio)chemical data mining by means of chemometric methods; L.-N. He et al. discuss work on molecular engineering of metal complexes for electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction and S. Rej and N. Chatani summarize regioselective transition-metal-free C(sp2)–H borylations. The Minireviews deal with polycyclic hydrocarbons from [4n]annulenes (J. Casado et al.) as well as the morphological anisotropy in metal–organic framework micro- and nanostructures (C. Liu et al.).

In the original research section, C. Chi et al. present azulene-fused acenes (see picture). J. Lin et al. conferred BiVO4 with oxygen vacancies to improve sonodynamic cancer therapy. S. Perrier et al. succeeded in the polymerization-induced self-assembly of graft copolymers, and M. R. Crimmin et al. explore the continuum between hexagonal planar and trigonal geometries.
