Angewandte Chemie 48/2022: Expanding the Repertoire

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, H. Kitagawa et al. review the chemical synthesis, characterization, and properties of multielement nanoparticles. A. Mondal and M. van Gemmeren summarize silver-free C–H activation for sustainable organic synthesis. The Minireviews deal with highly dynamic covalent polymer networks (F. E. Du Prez et al.) and strain control to stabilize perovskite solar cells (H. Zhang, N.-G. Park).

In the original research section, M. Pittelkow et al. present an antiaromatic propeller made from the fourfold fusion of tetraoxa[8]circulene and perylene diimides (see picture). S. E. O’Connor et al. expanded the catalytic repertoire of alcohol dehydrogenases in plant metabolism. H. M. Chen et al. found that heteroatomic pairs with a distal Fe3+ site boost water oxidation, and M. Pumera et al. created self-propelled magnetic dendrite-shaped microrobots for photodynamic therapy of prostate cancer.
