Angewandte Chemie 5/2024: Locally Ordered

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Philippe M. Vereecken et al. review the effects of iron species on low-temperature CO2 electrolyzers. Quanjun Xiang et  al. summarize research on single-atom heterogeneous catalysts. The Minireviews deal with nanofibers in organelles (Xiaoding Lou et al.), nucleic-acid-based enzyme cascades (Sandra Kröll, Christof M. Niemeyer), as well as locally ordered single-atom catalysts for electrocatalysis (Zhiqun Lin et al.).

In the original research section, Kang Min Ok et al. present deep-ultraviolet transparent mixed metal sulfamates with enhanced nonlinear optical properties and birefringence (see picture). Pauline Bianchi and Jean-Christophe M. Monbaliu revisit the paradigm of reaction optimization in flow with a priori computational reaction intelligence. Jeremy S. Luterbacher et al. succeeded in the integrated conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to bio-based amphiphiles using a functionalization–defunctionalization approach. Rasmus Linser et al. investigated the microsecond timescale conformational dynamics of a small-molecule ligand within the active site of a protein.
