Angewandte Chemie 7/2024: Going Further

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, Shuhong Jiao et al. review pouch-type lithium metal batteries. Alina Sekretareva et al. discuss mechanisms of photocurrent generation in plasmon-enhanced electrocatalysis. The Minireviews deal with reagent engineering for group transfer biocatalysis (John H. Reed, Florian P. Seebeck), single-chain nanoparticles in catalysis (Christopher Barner-Kowollik et al.), as well as small organic molecular electrocatalysts for fuel production (Haining Tian et al.). Namrata Kotwal and Pankaj Chauhan highlight access to pyridines via a nitrene internalization process. Holger Braunschweig and Merle Arrowsmith praise the many talents of the late Peter Paetzold in an obituary.

In the original research section, Haoquan Zheng et al. show how iron species are anchored on the highly curved surface of sulfur and nitrogen co-doped carbonaceous nanosprings for oxygen electrocatalysis and a flexible zinc-air battery (see picture). Martina Lenarcic Zivkovic et al. present a DNA quadruplex structure with a unique cation dependency. Jon T. Njardarson et al. used dithiophosphoric acids for polymer functionalization and Vincent Bizet et al. succeeded in the palladium-catalyzed regioselective synthesis of 2-SF5-indenonls and further derivatizations.
