This time there has been a change at the top of the world’s leading chemical companies, albeit only temporarily: After 12 years at the top, BASF has lost the top rank in chemical sales to DowDuPont. DowDuPont was formed by a merger of Dow and DuPont in 2017. However, DowDuPont has already split into three individual companies. In general, chemical sales of most of the world’s largest companies increased in 2018.
