Angewandte Chemie 6/2021: Single Atoms Make A Difference

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, D.-S. Guo et al. review the state of the art and perspectives of biomedical applications of calixarenes. P. G. Steel et al. discuss work on the iridium-catalyzed C–H borylation of heteroarenes. The Minireviews deal with ATP-driven synthetic supramolecular assemblies (S. J. George et al.) and stretchable electrochemical sensors for cell and tissue detection (Y.-L. Liu, W.-H. Huang).

In the original research section, M. Mitsui et al. show how single platinum atom doping to silver clusters enables near-infrared-to-blue photon upconversion (see picture). J. S. Zhou et al. succeeded in enantioselective intermolecular Heck and reductive Heck reactions of aryl triflates, mesylates, and tosylates catalyzed by nickel. Z. Zhang et al. describe a rational construction of Borromean linked crystalline organic polymers. J. Hall et al. found RNA-PROTACs to be degraders of RNA-binding proteins.
