In this issue, B. F. Sels et al. review efforts to replace ethylene oxide with glycolaldehyde as a biobased C2 platform molecule and M. G. Organ et al. discuss the roles of inorganic salts in organozinc formation and in the Negishi reaction. The Minireviews deal with radical-promoted distal C–H functionalization of C(cp3) centers with fluorinated moieties (T. Besset et al.) and colloidal metal nanocrystals with metastable crystal structures (Y. Xia et al.).

In the original research section, N. Mézailles et al. report the conversion of dinitrogen to nitrile through a cross-metathesis of N2-derived molybdenum nitride with alkynes. M. S. Shoshan et al. present a potent cyclic tetrapeptide for lead detoxification, and B. Z. Tang et al. succeeded in the functionalization of silk with AIEgens through bioconjugation to achieve full-color fluorescence and long-term bioimaging. L. Ma et al. describe the construction of flexible amine-linked covalent organic frameworks by catalysis and reduction of formic acid via the Eschweiler–Clarke reduction (see picture).
