Angewandte Chemie 10/2022: Rocking Chemistry

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, C.-J. Li et al. review deoxygenative functionalizations of aldehydes, ketones, and carboxylic acids. What is the underexplored synthetic potential of carbonyl and carboxyl groups? The Minireviews deal with tailored interlayer chemistries for layered 2D halide perovskites (Y. Zhou et al.) and mechanical properties of organic crystals (P. Naumov et al.).

In the original research section, D. Zhong et al. report the direct observation of ultrafast proton rocking in the BLUF domain. A. Nagaki et al. describe a flash electrochemical approach to carbocations. X.-L. Wu et al. produced a covalent organic framework with highly accessible carbonyls and π-cation effect (see picture). K. D. Moeller et al. used an electrode surface to control the selectivity of a solution-phase chemical reaction.
