Angewandte Chemie 16/2022: Mindful and Precise

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, K. Landfester et al. review synthetic cells, and C. Li et al. discuss charge-separation mechanisms in photocatalyst particles. In a Viewpoint article, F. Kaspar and F. Crameri explain how mindful color choices improve chemical communication.

In the original research section, Q. Xu et al. show how the CO2-induced exposure of the intrinsic magnetic surface of BaTiO3 leads to room-temperature ferromagnetism (see picture). M. P. Coles et al. succeeded in the potassium aluminyl promoted carbonylation of ethene. Q. Li et al. present an artificial light-harvesting system with controllable efficiency enabled by a columnar liquid crystal. W.-M. Ren et al. controlled the disassembly of elemental sulfur for the precise synthesis of polysulfides.
