In this issue’s Review, B. G. De Geest et al. discuss polymer multilayer capsules in drug delivery. How does the variation of the capsule components affect their potential applications? In a Minireview, T. Dröge and F. Glorius praise N-heterocyclic carbenes as the measure of all things in catalysis (see picture). The Highlights deal with the rearrangement of the trityloxy radical and the total synthesis of ammosamides.

In the Communications section, L. Cronin et al. (also see his Author Profile in this issue) present modular inorganic polyoxometalate frameworks with novel redox properties. V. Percec et al. demonstrate deconstruction as a strategy for the design of libraries of self-assembling dendrons. M. Driess, C. Limberg et al. describe the monooxygenase-like reactivity of an unprecedented heterobimetallic iron–nickel moiety. Y.-T. Wu et al. have achieved the synthesis, structure elucidation, and photophysical characterization of dibenzo[de,mn]naphthacenes.
