Electrochemistry 2010: From Microscopic Understanding to Global Impact was held at Ruhr University, Bochum, Germany, this September. The conference was jointly organized by GDCh-Fachgruppe Angewandte Elektrochemie (GDCh-AK ELACH) Deutsche Bunsengesellschaft für Physikalische Chemie (DBG), Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e.V. (DECHEMA), Arbeitsgemeinschaft elektrochemischer Forschungsinstitutionen e.V. (AGEF), Gesellschaft für Korrosionsschutz e.V. (GfKorr) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Galvano- und Oberflächentechnik e.V.(DGO).

Professor Wolfgang Schuhmann (on the left in the 4th photo), Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Ruhr Universität Bochum, and Professor Gunther Wittstock were the organizers of the conference. Pictures were provided by Dr. Xingxing Chen from Wolfgang Schuhmann’s group.

The coffee breaks proved to be fertile ground for finding new collaborators and catching up with old friends …
