The chemist we are looking for this time discovered almost an entire group of elements in the periodic table. He or she was originally supposed to join the clergy. However, our chemist showed an early fascination with science: After breaking a leg playing football as a child, he or she fought the boredom during convalescence by experimenting with chemicals and trying to build fireworks.

After one year of classical studies at university, the person we are looking for switched to chemistry, and later obtained a doctorate in organic chemistry. His or her greatest discoveries, however, were in the area of physical and inorganic chemistry, reflecting his or her wide spectrum of interests and talents.
