According to Bloomberg, a Roche plant that makes glucose testing strips and has been operating in Ponce, Puerto Rico, for more than four decades, is shutting down by 2021. The production will be optimized and concentrated to only two instead of three Roche facilities in Indianapolis, USA, and Mannheim, Germany. An estimated 200 workers will be affected in Puerto Rico.
