ECHA updated their web section Chemicals in our Life in cooperation with industry and trade associations as well as environment and animal welfare organisations and launched a facebook account to reach the general public and make them aware of the safe use of chemicals.

The aim of the web section is to explain how chemicals can be used safely at home and at work and to give tips on how consumers can find out more about the chemicals that they use. It also provides background information on current scientific topics, such as nanotechnology, endocrine disrupters, and the cocktail effect of chemicals mixtures. It provides information for about very hazardous chemicals and the possibilities to replace them with safer alternatives.
