ECHA CHEM: ECHA’s New Chemicals Database

Author: ChemistryViews

ECHA manages the largest chemicals database in the European Union (EU). The Agency’s current information platform contains information on more than 360,000 chemicals, including data submitted by industry and information generated through the EU regulatory process.

To better manage the growing amount of information and make it available to the public in a user-friendly way, ECHA has launched the ECHA CHEM database. The first version of ECHA CHEM contains information from all the more than 100,000 REACH registrations that companies have submitted to ECHA. Later this year, the database will be extended to include the revised Classification and Labelling Inventory (C&L Inventory), followed by the first set of regulatory lists.
