Enhancing your Imaging Workflows and Ultrastructural Data Using Biological EDS

Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometry (EDS) enables reserchers to collect compositional information in combination with electron images. Biological EDS can measure and map elements within cells and tissues at the nanoscale, generating multi-colour images of cellular and subcellular features. The data generated provides ultrastructural context, mapping of elements within the biological samples and relative quantification of those elements. As an electron microscopist working in life science, it is easy to appreciate the added value of compositional information when characterising cell and tissue ultrastructure.
