Linde Acquires the Remaining Interests in nexAir

Author: ChemistryViews

Linde’s wholly owned subsidiary Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. (LG&E) has held a minority interest in nexAir since 2012. NexAir is one of the largest independent packaged gas distributors in the United States with 2022 sales of approximately $400 million. LG&E has now purchased the remaining 77.2 %. Packaging gas is used to pack sensitive materials such as food into a modified atmosphere environment.

The NexAir was founded as Standard Welders Supply in 1940 and was purchased by the McEniry family in 1950. In 1996, it merged with Mid-South Oxygen to form nexAir, which today employs more than 750 people at more than 70 locations, 18 of them in Memphis.
