The Chemistry Behind the Aroma of Beer

The event will explore the production of beer with a particular focus on the role of yeast and its impact on the brewing recipe and fermentation process. This study evening aims to interest scientists, product developers, lab managers and quality managers in the field of nutrition. 

Gert De Rouck, managing director of Pilot Malting and Brewery (EFBT) will talk through the journey of beer production, including the materials needed for brewing and how they impact odor, color and taste. 

There will also be the opportunity to visit the pilot brewing facilities of the KU Leuven Ghent campus.
