In this issue, Linlin Zhang and Yaobing Wang summarize research on decoupled artificial photosynthesis and Bao-Lian Su et al. review materials, electrochemistry, and strategies for ammonium ion batteries. The Minireviews deal with protein oligomer engineering (Chang Liu, Jinghui Luo) and optochemical control of mRNA translation in eukaryotes (Andrea Rentmeister et al.).

In the original research section, Abhijit Patra et al. show how to transform an imine cage to a covalent organic framework film at the liquid–liquid interface (see picture). Patrick J. Walsh et al. succeeded in palladium-catalyzed benzylic C(sp3)–H carbonylative arylation with aryl bromides. Tsuyoshi Mita et al. describe the synthesis of bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane-based straight-shaped diphosphine ligands, and Chunyi Zhi et al. manipulated the coulombic efficiency of cathodes in aqueous zinc batteries by anion chemistry.
