Angewandte Chemie 4/2023: Strong Interactions

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, D. A. Kuznetsov et al. review MXene electrocatalysts for energy conversion reactions, and H. Lundberg et al. discuss electrosynthetic C–O bond activation in alcohols and their derivatives. The Minireviews deal with the engineering of heterogeneous catalysis with strong metal–support interactions (M. Zhu et al.) as well as formal cycloadditions driven by the homolytic opening of strained, saturated ring systems (C. R. J. Stephenson et al.).

In the original research section, Q. Zhang et al. show how to unlock charge-transfer limitations for extreme fast charging of Li-ion batteries (see picture). T. Si et al. describe the biosynthesis of hybrid neutral lipids with archaeal and eukaryotic characteristics in engineered Saccharomyces cerevisiae. M. Bennati et al. reveal the hydration structure of nitroxide radicals in aqueous solution by 17O hyperfine spectroscopy. K. Severin et al. present copper complexes with diazoolefin ligands and their photochemical conversion into alkenylidene complexes.
