The scientist we are looking for this time was born in France, but spent almost his or her entire career in Switzerland. He or she pioneered an entirely new field in inorganic chemistry and received high honors for the work.
Our chemist developed an interest in science very early and performed experiments in the family’s barn. He or she completed his or her first independent studies at 18, received a doctorate at 24, and was appointed Assistant Professor at 27. He or she made a lasting impact on inorganic chemistry: In 2001, 82 years after his or her death, he or she was listed as co-author of a peer-reviewed paper. The researchers had used crystal samples prepared by the chemist we are looking for.
