Angewandte Chemie 4/2020: Unconventional Routes

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, H. Jiang and W. Hu review organic single-crystal electronics. What recent progress has been made in fabrication and application? The Minireviews deal with electron microscopy for functional interfaces in energy materials (M. Chi et al.) and metal-modified nucleic acids (J. Müller et al.). A. Fürstner et al. look back on the life and research of Walter Thiel in an Obituary.

In the original research section, S.-Y. Lin et al. present a supramolecular trap to increase the antibacterial activity of colistin. M. Oestreich et al. reveal a stereospecific and chemoselective copper-catalyzed deaminative silylation of benzylic ammonium triflates. Z. Lin et al. describe an unconventional route to oxygen-vacancy-enabled highly efficient electron extraction and transport in perovskite solar cells (see picture), and R. Naaman et al. show how to use electron spin as a chiral reagent.
