Angewandte Chemie 14/2020: Good Practice

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, S. Riedel et al. review polyhalogen and polyinterhalogen anions of fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine. What is their structural diversity, chemical behavior, and application? The Minireviews deal with quantitative analytics of particle uptake by cells (W. J. Parak et al.) and good practice for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (S. Schlücker et al.). S. Sandl and A. Jacobi von Wangelin highlight organoferrates in iron-catalyzed cross-couplings.

In the original research section, B. Hoge et al. describe the synthesis and reactivity of isolated hydrogen-bridged silanol–silanotate anions (see picture). Y.-T. Chen et al. present a universal nano-capillary based method of catalyst immobilization for liquid-cell transmission electron microscopy. T. F. Fässler et al. observed fast lithium ion conduction in lithium phosphidoaluminates. M. Rueping et al. succeeded in the regioselective hydroalkylation and arylalkylation of alkynes by photoredox/nickel dual catalysis.
