Angewandte Chemie 46/2021: Chemistry on Any Scale

Author: Angewandte Chemie International Edition

In this issue, P. S. Dittrich et al. review droplet microfluidics and directed evolution of enzymes. The Minireview deals with machine learning in rechargeable batteries research on the micro- and macroscale (Q. Zhang).

In the original research section, C. Lichtenberg et al. present the dimethylbismuth cation, its isolation and characterization via dative Bi–Bi bonding, and an unconventional methyl exchange (see picture). W. Zhang et al. elucidated the biosynthesis of chuangxinmycin to feature a deubiquitinase-like sulfurtransferase. W. Su et al. succeeded in the activation of aryl carboxylic acids by diboron agents for the nickel-catalyzed direct decarbonylative borylation. G. I. N. Waterhouse et al. engineered atomic cation vacancy of NiFe-layered double hydroxides to improve their activity and stability towards the oxygen evolution reaction.
