For the eighth time the kjVIs (kreative junge VerfahrensIngenieure, creative young process engineers) present the famous ChemCar Competition. In 2013 it will take place at the Fachgemeinschaft Prozess-, Apparate- und Anlagentechnik (PAAT, Trade Community Process, and Plant Engineering) meeting in Bruchsal, Germany, on November 18–19, 2013.
Teams of seven students (maximum) are invited to build a car, powered by a (bio-)chemical reaction. The aim of this competition is the accurate design of a reaction to achieve a certain distance with the car rather than to build the fastest car. The traveled distance must depend on the amount of utilized reactant. The exact distance to travel will be announced shortly before the competition. In addition, a randomly determined weight has to be transported during the race.

If you are interested in the ChemCar Competition and would like to take part in — or supervise/coach a team from your own university — you will find more information at www.chemcar.de. Please submit your registration and concept description before June 27, 2013 to [email protected]
Financial support for congress fees for the participating team members (not including supervisors) will be offered by the organizers, the “kreative junge Verfahrensingenieure, kjVI” and VDI-GVC!
