Synthesis of 2‐Aminoquinazoline‐ and 2‐Aminopyrimidine‐Fused Hybrid Scaffolds by Copper‐Catalyzed C(sp2)–N Coupling and Cyclization Followed by Oxidation

2‐(2‐Bromoaryl)‐ and 2‐(2‐bromovinyl)‐4,7‐dimethoxybenzimidazoles are coupled and cyclized with cyanamide as a building block in dimethylformamide in the presence of a catalytic amount of a copper catalyst along with a base to give the corresponding 2‐aminoquinazoline‐ and 2‐aminopyrimidine‐fused 4,7‐dimethoxybenzimidazoles in good yields. 1,3,4‐Oxadiazoles are a kind of useful heterocycles which can be frequently found in materials and bioactive molecules. In this study, intermolecular electrochemical cyclization between α‐keto acids and acylhydrazines has been developed for the synthesis of 2,5‐disubstituted 1,3,4‐oxadiazoles with the yield up to 91 %. Electrochemical Reduction of α‐Amino Allenylphosphonates to α‐Amino Allylphosphonates

α‐Amino allenylphosphonates are reduced to α‐amino allylphosphonates using electrochemical processes. The reduction products are obtained in moderate to good yields. Moreover, in the case of tosylamine compounds, we were pleased to take advantage of a simultaneous reduction and cleavage of the tosyl group from the nitrogen atom to access unprotected amino‐allylphosphonates. The mechanism of this reduction is also discussed.

Abstract Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is known to cause oxidative stress and inflammation leading to cardiovascular disease (CVD) complications.
